what does success look like in relation to your graduation research today? and in 2 months?
today
- finding new ways to research
- feeling like i can do this project
2 months
- having a topic
- being on time with everything
- passed both checks
research methods
Experimental research - most interesting insights but is the hardest. Think of something...
Qualitative research - in depth
Quantitative research - dry data
vision board exercise
cut out images and just paste them in a who, what, why order, in 20min, and see if people interpret your vision the same way.

classmate's interpretations
why:
feeling like we're in freefall in oblivion, no direction, suspended in space and feeling like you're floating into nothingness
who:
people who feel restricted, held and assisted even if they don't want. confused about what things really are after being given a path to follow.
how:
embracing freedom of expression, being the fool you want to be and doing unusual things in creating a new standard morality. creating a fluidity within connections whether with humans or within thoughts. fluidity becoming the mattress to save from freefall.
classmate's interpretations
- falling vs flying?
- falling or drowning
- rebellious - darkness
- getting out of a dark space
- daring to explore unexpected
- drowning -> looking for connections -> connection
- spacey
- exploring yourself, needing help
- not being afraid of facing demons, following unexpected paths
- people who don't feel like being helped
- diversity, embracing your inner self
- not too serious, weirdos in a good way
- eccentric
- being unique, the new normal
- not knowing where you're going and it's ok not to know
- lonely, trying to feel what being in love feels like
- embracing your weirdness
conclusion | the feedback was very interesting as a lot of my ideas were portrayed, and some new ones came about. My visual style was definitely represented and understood, which is great. The new insights i got from the vision board were the “not being afraid, diversity and looking for connection” i didn’t see those particularly but they do relate to my story in some way.
